Nadya Mistry - Elegance with an attitude

Nadya Mistry came into the fashion scene a few years ago with her flagship store in the prestigious Park Towers Mall in Karachi. She has been a controvercial designer with her very bold designs, colors & cuts which make her stand out from the rest. Traditional lehengas are given a modern twist with mermaid style skirts and gota embroidery. This fusion along with a vibrant burst of bright colours creates an overall effect of elegance with an attitude.

Comments:
Most of Nadya Mistry's clothes are very flamboyant. Her collection may look good on the ramp but very loud for my taste. I think she has to tone down her clothes to get a bigger share of the market.

Some of Nadya Mistry's clothes are really fabulous. Her party wear collection are really hot. Personal, she should only concentrate on her Fusion Clothing which will be a hot seller. I wish her all the best with her venture.

Excuse Me !!! Nadya Mistry thinks that she still in Paris France where she boast she did her Fashion Designing and it seems that she only make her clothes thinking that they are going ot be worn on the ramps...He styles are really viarant and bold for most people.

Nadya you need to tone down a bit and cater to a bigger audiance who like soft subtle outfits with delicate work on them.

I dont agree with Sonia, Nadya's clothes are really nice and there are a lot of people who prefer to be different and like to make an impression. If you dont like her style of clothing then you should think about changing your designer, which you can find a dime a dozen.

Nadya Mistry retains her cutting edge novelty by creating new style which are constantly amazes her customers.

These days Nadya has been meeting of various designers from Karachi, trying to get togeather a group of designer to take a stand against the founding members & current Directors of the Karachi Fashion Council.

Nadya, along with all the other designers outside the exalted ranks of its founding members, will be on the losing end of the bargain. That is because couched deep within the terms and conditions of council membership are certain stipulations that, according to Nadya, give unlimited power to the heads at the cost of everyone else.

“This is a private company,” she explains, “not a council. It’s not an ‘association’ in the true spirit of the word. It’s a company formed by the seven directors Maheen Khan, Rizwan Beyg, Faiza Samee, Bunto Kazmi, Amir Adnan, Nilofer Shahid and Honey Waqar — to make money and distribute the profits among each other.

Incidentally, Nadya, with her 10 years of glowing professional experience, three years of schooling, and her own designer outlet, falls within the category of an executive member (according to the provisos of the council). But interestingly enough, even designers with barely two or three years of experience have been invited to join as executive members. “It’s just to get money,” she says in exasperation.

Her other bone of contention is the make-up of the leadership “The active directors can’t be active designers,” she argues. “It’s a major conflict of interest. Why will Rizwan Beyg be watching my back? If I were in that position, I wouldn’t. Why should I lie? It’s natural. The head should be a non-fashion person or a retired designer.”

im sorry if m comment had attitude to it buh u did say elegance wiv an attitude u dimwit

I am not a big fan of Nadya Mistry's Clothing style, but I sure do admire her guts to take a stand against the Fashion Council.

It seems that the so called big seven namely Maheen Khan, Rizwan Beyg, Faiza Samee, Bunto Kazmi, Amir Adnan, Nilofer Shahid and Honey Waqar have started to think that the Karachi Fashion Council is their own private property....which is really putting a lot of up-coming designer where as you guys should act as a mentor to them and incourage them and guide them in their work in such a way that the entire fashion industry of Pakistan benifits from it rather than just the seven of you..
