At the launch of her yoga DVD, Shilpa admitted that she has low blood pressure and it is yoga which keeps her fit and healthy. She said "I'm not doing this for money. I have made enough money by now and if I wanted to make money, I would have not sold this DVD for such a cheap rate. This is a DVD for the youth so they can keep fit and lead a healthy life," said Shilpa.

She said that she is not trying to competing with Baba Ramdev as his techniques are different from what she practices. Shilpa believes in Rekha as her mentor from Bollywood. "She practiced yoga much before anyone did and the result is what Rekha is today is thanks to her belief in yoga."

Aishwarya Rai may be beautiful the most beautiful female to grace the Silver screen, but Bipasha takes the cake as far as sex appeal is concerned.

Being sexy is not just about wearing skimpy clothes or giving ‘I am wild’ look to the camera. It is more about attitude and how one carries oneself in revealing clothes.

In her introductory scene of Dhoom 2, Ash is shown completely dressed in black outfit (of a thief) and wearing a mask. A few minutes later, she takes off her dress in front of the hero (Hrithik Roshan) and stands in a tiny top and shorts.

The posture she strikes is supposed to be sexy, but is far from it. Her pelvis stiff and her bust ostentatiously protruding to the thief in front of her. Now, that is supposed to be ’sex appeal’ for you.

Bipasha, on the other hand, oozes oomph in her very first scene when she is shown shooting at a target while dressed in a tight white T-shirt and jeans. The camera catches the angle of her bust from sideways, highlighting to the maximum Bipasha’s anatomical assets.

That’s not it. After every few reels, Bipasha is shown in one revealing outfit after another, making sure that the oomph quotient doesn’t drip in the film. The temperature rises further in the second half, when Bipasha is shown as a Brazilian, mostly dressed in bikinis.

In this battle of sex appeal, Bipasha is truly the winner.

Meera Plans to Join Politics

Film actress Meera has decided to join politics and said she has offers from almost all major political parties to join. She disclosed her ambition to join national politics in an informal chat with newsmen at the inauguration ceremony of Go Aish Adventure Park here on Monday.

She said she was seriously considering to join a political party. However, she did not disclose the name of any particular party.She said it was premature to say whether she would contest the next general election.

The controversial actress, who worked in several Indian movies, said she worked in the commercial of the Go Aish Adventure Park and she came at the inauguration ceremony as a guest of Sindh governor and the city government.

Aaminah Haq is the queen of Pakistani fashion - Almond eyed, bee-stung lipped, bankable blonde who's clearly having the most fun of all. She won last year's Lux Style Award for best model. Her conviction and confidence demand notice & in many ways she dominates any picture she is in, in the way she walks down the ramp.

Wearing a black ribbed turtleneck and jeans, she's barefoot and is at home at the salon, just as she is behind a camera. Very un-diva like at the moment, she puts her feet up and relaxes. Despite a hectic work and social schedule, she's on time. "I am very particular about being on time because if I don't value other people's time, how will they value mine?" She states firmly. "If I don't take this all seriously, why would anyone else?" And Haq takes her work very seriously. Even when she won the coveted award for best model last year, it only made her determined to work harder.

Her first love is fashion, which she says is not frivolous to her. "It drives me. It's my passion. In fact, I originally wanted to be a designer and even attended the Pakistan School of Fashion Design in Lahore for four years," she recalls. "But I left just before the finals because I knew if I didn't leave then, I would never be able to pursue my desire to do something that makes me happy." The actress-model believes if it weren't for the opportunities that have come her way, she'd just be another girl sitting in Lahore twiddling her thumbs wondering when she was going to get married.

I'm always trying to consciously change the way I look and the colour of my hair because I believe you have to constantly reinvent yourself," she explains. "If it's not interesting to you, how can you make the person reading the magazines focus on you?" Despite her love of control and her fervour for reinvention, Haq denies the current rumours of plastic surgery. "I've always had this nose & face and am very happy with how I am. If anything, I wish I were a little taller," the 5'5'' model clarifies.

She hates being compared to anyone and states, "I want to be seen as an individual and I want people to think of me as someone who stood out from the rest." She sees herself as the alternative to more conventional supermodels like Vinnie and Iraj and is somewhat bemused by her sudden trendiness. "I've always been this way. It's just now, suddenly, I'm cool!" She shrugs. The quintessential diva, she is masterminding her career with ruthless strategy and exceptional intelligence. Other models are taller and thinner, and some perhaps even more beautiful, but none possess Haq's hunger for success and the spotlight. Blind ambition? Probably. Blonde ambition? Definitely.

Hammasa Kohistani, Miss England (2005) — the first Muslim (of Afghan origin) to achieve this distinction, overcoming a storm of controversy along the way and definitely silencing the radical, fundamental elements.

Shehzad Roy, the founder of Zindagi Trust had convinced the beauty queen to come to Pakistan and lend a helping hand in the NGO’s charity work. With charity being a strong raison d’etre of Miss England, and Hammasa feeling deeply for the underprivileged, especially girls’ education accepted Shehzad Roy offer.

The 19-year-old beauty moved to England with her family when she was 10. She says that after her parents fled Afghanistan during the Taliban period, they lived in a number of countries before ultimately settling down in the UK.

Hammasa is not a newcomer to the modelling arena, having been a model since she was 14. She has been on the cover of Asiana, Asian Woman, along with being featured in Hello, Vogue, Cosmopolitan and Glamour among other fashion magazines of international repute. She has modelled for England’s SuperDrug, the GAP, and has been on many TV channels — CNN, BBC, ITV, etc — and has appeared in prominent TV shows and radio programmes. “I was 15 when I came on the cover of Asiana magazine,” she says her voice laced with pride.

Victory at the Miss England pageant came as a big surprise as she wasn’t expecting to win. It was with the encouragement of her parents that Hammasa got into modelling and eventually went for the Miss England beauty contest. She defeated 39 girls to be crowned Miss England, but a bigger battle was defeating the critics and the religious cynics who argued that her participation in the pageant was against their religious norms. But by listening to her heart and emboldened by her family’s support, she went for her dream and achieved it.

At five feet, seven-and-a-half inches, Hammasa is a tall girl, especially by Asian standards, but she knows that she would never be able to make it into the mainstream where the minimum height starts from five feet and eight inches & her limitations because of her religious and family values and her own morals. In her spare time, Hammasa enjoys the excitement of tackling new challenges and also loves to travel. She hopes her status as Miss England will give her the opportunity to travel more. She is also one of those very lucky ones who do not have a weight problem. “I have had the same weight since I was 15,” she says, disclosing that she really relishes junk food.

MOST people know Zohaib Hasan as just a singer but I consider Zohaib Hassan and his late sister Nazia Hassan as the founder of pop music in Pakistan.

Zohaib has recently been appointed as the advisor to the Governor of Sindh and he is heading the newly-established area of image building and promotion, which was desperately required. Zohaib was the most suitable person for this job as he has done neumerous promotions, events, expos and festivals, especially in a city like Karachi where there is a lot of work that needs to be done.

There is also a business side to the experienced musician. He plays a pivotal part of his father’s 40-year old real estate business that is spread both in Karachi and in the UK. Zohaib likes to watch sci-fi epics such as War of the Worlds, Star Wars, etc. He is also a big fan of Woody Allen and finds them very intelligently scripted and funny. Zohaib normally doesn’t watch Bollywood movies because he finds them very predictable. “The only movie that appealed to him was a small budget production but very well-scripted comedy called Katha Meetha.

Commenting on Bollywood music, he finds it very commercial & extremely run-of-the-mill. He feels that Pakistani pop has come a long way but still needs more time to grow up. Some of the new entrants show promise but need to concentrate more on creativity rather than the commercial aspect. A lot more younger people are now involved in the music business today as opposed to the time we started. Society has accepted it now as a career option. The media technology has really helped the industry to grow by providing more channels, cheaper musical equipment, etc. Plus, there is less piracy today than before, which is great because that could kill this industry.

Zohaib called it a day after Nazia had passed away but, on the insistence of my wife, family and friends, he decided to do another album. The album "Kismet" was something that Nazia and Zohaib started working on years ago and he has dedicated it to the loving memory of her sister. Interestingly, my wife wrote a story for a drama serial after hearing the score and I have also acted in it for the first time.

A Chingari called Sushmita

She is one of Bollywood's brightest actresses, a stunner with substance.
He is a National-Award winning veteran best known for his seemingly unstoppable run of mediocre movies.
Kalpana Lajmi, in her upcoming Chingari, has cast Sushmita Sen opposite Mithun Chakraborty.
The film, written by composer Bhupen Hazarika, is based on three characters. Mithun plays Bhagwan Pandit, a Kali-worshipping priest. He's a man of two shades: Extremely positive, as a devout spiritual leader and extremely negative, a passionate lover of prostitutes. As Mithun says, "Whatever he does, he does with great conviction."
Anuj Sawhney plays a 25-year-old postman, and the film is, on a basic level, the story of his love for Basanti, a prostitute older than himself.
Basanti, played by the sultry Ms Sen, provides the point of conflict in the film, as Bhagwan Pandit also falls obsessively in love with her, and is ready to cross all boundaries in attempts to win her affection.
Lajmi feels that Chingari will cast light on lesser-known aspects of the lives of sex workers.
The film is scheduled to hit theatres by the end of this year.

NEW DELHI: No one expressed surprise when former Miss World Aishwarya Rai was voted Bollywood’s sexiest actress in a recent online poll, a newspaper reported on Tuesday. But a relative newcomer in the world’s most-watched movie industry, John Abraham, raised eyebrows by knocking the more established Shahrukh Khan from the top spot to win the male award, The Asian Age said in its report on a Durex survey on sexual attitudes.

The survey of 317,000 people in 41 countries found that Abraham is considered the sexiest actor in India’s movie industry, with 20.6 per cent of the votes - while Khan took 16.3 per cent of the ballot, the Age said. Abhishek Bachchan, son of Hindi movie legend Amitabh Bachchan, came a close third with 15.1 per cent votes. Ekta Kapoor, a leading Bollywood producer, told the Age that what turned her on about former model Abraham are his "sexy jawline" and "his fat smile." But "Shah Rukh’s enigma and intensity are unbeatable," she added.

Among the female stars, Rai was far and beyond the most hoped-for date, winning 20 per cent of the votes in the survey. Rani Mukherji won 12.8 per cent votes, while Mallika Sherawat, an actress who has won passionate admirers and critics in recent years with her scantily clad appearances, won only 9.5 per cent support in the poll.
